Treatment of the more serious condition (SUI), results in restoration of bladder leakage and often fixes the symptoms of overactive bladder. (if mixed incontinence)

How do we fix Stress Urinary Incontinence?

Until Recently, the only options for dealing with SUI have been:

Expectant management – live with it, wearing padded underwear/Poise pads

Kegel exercises (with or without the help of pelvic physiotherapy). This requires a lot of time and dedication, with ongoing maintenance.

Pessary (a mechanical device one places in and out of the vagina for the rest of your life)

Surgery (with or without insertion of mesh (eg. Birch procedure or TVT surgery).

Being in the Urogynecology field for more than 15 years, Dr. Edwards has performed many stress incontinence surgeries (with and without mesh) and results have been good.

However, more and more, women are searching for safer, non-surgical options, that are equivalent to surgery, without the surgical recovery time.
